A Literature-Loving Couple’s Intimate Campus Wedding

Many a romance has blossomed on the sprawling lawns of university campuses. That’s where Kevin and Ksenia’s love story begins, and, years after graduating from the University of British Columbia, the pair said I do among the limestone buildings and lush gardens where they first met. The literature-loving couple invited 80 of their closest friends and relatives to celebrate their love and commitment on their special day. Gorgeous arrangements of fresh flowers (so many peonies!) lined the family-style dining tables, and old books doubled as centerpieces at the indoor reception. Check out the images from Nadia Hung Photography for a tutorial in understated wedding elegance.

From the Bride… “The wedding had roughly 80 guests and the planning was spread out over a year, with the venue booked over a year in advance. From the many places to choose from, we picked the venue that was representative of how we met and what we were passionate about, full of old books and located directly on the university campus where we studied. The best part of the wedding was not any single moment, but rather a continuous torrent of joy, realizations of the fact that we were now married and surrounded by all the people that we love, and how this sensation repeated itself in a surreal haze throughout the evening.”
