Dining In The Dark

Here’s a culinary trend you can really sink your teeth into: enjoy a gourmet dinner in complete darkness. Why would you want to do such a thing you might ask? Well, when you eat without being able to see, your other senses are heightened! The dine-in-the-dark trend first started when a restaurant called Blindekuh (“blind cow”) opened in Berlin in 1999. Since then, similar venues have been popping up around the globe.

Of course, you can replicate the experience at home. Prepare your meal (for safety’s sake, stick to bite-sized pieces free of bones) and set the table with the lights on. Then use candles or a flashlight to find your seats. If you can’t eliminate all light sources, try wearing blindfolds for an added erotic twist.
