Country Strong: A Charming Celebration With DIY Details

Taking a cue from their rustic venue, North Carolina’s Hillcrest Farms, Crystal and John filled their wedding with charming country details. During the ceremony, guests sat on bales of hay instead of traditional chairs or benches, and Mason jars filled with flowers dangled from nearby trees. The homespun touches continued at the reception where burlap runners topped the tables and unique vessels (vintage pitchers, pop bottles and wooden wagons) showcased sweet and simple arrangements of white hydrangea and baby’s breath. Crystal and John even had their very own sweetheart table, which was decorated with adorable signs that said “Mr. & Mrs. Barefoot” (Barefoot is the groom’s unusual surname). As the evening wound down, Crystal swapped her elegant lace gown for a sassy minidress (paired with cowboy boots, of course!) and the newlyweds dashed through a crowd of loved ones holding sparklers to make their getaway in a bright turquoise pickup truck. Photographer Mary, of Mary Me Photography, artfully captured all these magical moments and more.
