Can Your Name Predict If You’ll Be A Good Spouse?

A recent study revealed the top 10 names associated with being a good husband or wife.

The cheeky study polled 2,000 adults on the qualities associated with common first names based on the participants’ experiences with their partners, as well as those of their peers. The study was commissioned by the British domain name site Siteopia.com.

Results showed that women named Katie, Sophie and Louise make the best wives, and that men named David, Andrew and Daniel make stellar husbands. (I married a David and I agree 100% with the study’s findings.)

”Every time we hear mention of a name we naturally associate particular values or impressions based on our past experiences,” says a spokesperson for the site. ”It seems certain names tend to crop up more than others when thinking about the qualities of a good husband or wife, and the lists no doubt make interesting reading to many.”

But the Katies and Davids of the world can’t rely on their given names only, just like Channing Tatum can’t rely solely on his chiseled face and washboard abs (oh, wait, he totally can). No, these folks need to follow-through with the virtuous actions associated with their names.

”Of course, people shouldn’t be judged on a name alone, so while men like David and Andrew seem to be top of the pile, they’ve still got to uphold that reputation day to day,” the rep says.
