A Charming Countryside Wedding

Held on the groom’s family farm, this countryside wedding is the perfect, ahem, marriage of rustic charm and elegant decor. Jani and Trev’s wedding was truly a joint effort, especially when it came to the DIY elements. He built the wooden centerpiece vases and the gorgeous arch under which they exchanged vows, while she and her friends tackled escort cards and signage. The farmhouse dining tables with burlap runners and lush hydrangea centerpieces are the perfect option for this style of wedding. Jani and Trev gave guests a fitting parting gift: a ‘smores kit for their next bonfire in big sky country! Luckily, Nikki Leigh McKean Photography was on the scene to capture images of this dreamy, rustic celebration.

From the Bride… “We had our wedding at Trev’s family farm. It’s a very important part of their family so it was really special to share that with everyone. Our favorite part of the planning process would have to be our actual wedding day. You have a vision of how you want things to look and you cross your fingers that once it all comes together it will be exactly as you envisioned.  Because of some rain everything planned didn’t quite happen, but it didn’t matter. When looking around it was wonderful to see all the little details we had planned come together to be just like we pictured.

Some of my favorite parts of the day were feeling calm, happy and really enjoying spending the day getting ready with my bridesmaids; when the sunshine came out right before walking down the aisle; saying our own custom vows, seeing all my favorite people in one place; and dancing on the tables with best friends until 4 a.m.

My very talented husband made each one of our wooden centerpieces for flowers, as well as the arbor we said our vows under. Watching him build these was a definite highlight for me. Myself, along with friends made the name cards, advice cards, table seating frames and wooden signs that we nailed to a big tree on the property.”
