Iain & Aman: Two Weddings in One

Honoring the traditions of two different cultures made Iain and Aman’s wedding a rich and colorful occasion, photographed by Manifesto Photography

There were two ceremonies, a traditional Sikh ceremony and a civil Canadian ceremony, at the Sprucewood Winery in Southern Ontario. Iain proudly wore a Scottish kilt in the Cameron of Erracht tartan, complete with his grandfather’s sporran which has been in their family since WWII, and Aman wore a traditional Indian lengha that weighed nearly 30 pounds, hand-embroidered with crystals of rust gold and red.

For the reception, there was a change of venue and a change of outfits. The red and gold decor in the banquet room at Mastronardi Estate Winery captured the Scottish-Sikh fusion theme of the day. The tables were adorned with Moroccan lanterns and brightly coloured flowers. Iain changed into a snazzy black Hugo Boss suit with a champagne vest and tie, and Aman swapped out her lengha for a fitted lace gown. The bridesmaids had two beautiful outfits as well, all straight from India.

From start to finish, the day was saturated with traditions, unity, and respect. “The path that leads to happiness is so narrow that two can not walk on it unless they become one.” — Nishan Panwar
